You don't need gap certificate at the time of counseling but at the time of addmission you need a valid gap certificate....

You go for the counselling at a given date and time. Make sure you take the DD and admit card. then they wait for long time till you are called.

It is neccesary for you to see the qualifying exams for the college you have mentioned.
Yes you have to take and qualify JEE MAIN and apply for HBTU counselling separately
