In second year, I dont think this will be helpful. Better to focus on your B.tech course as of now and when you go in 3 year then start Gate preparation by checking the syllabus and books as per your branch and then go for Mocks for final revision.

@Sandhya: No it is not required to give CAT for MBA and there are other entrances as well like XAT, NMAT, CMAT etc but if you want to enter in IIMs then CAT is the exam. Also smart work is as such no terminology but to clear CAT exam one
