The closing ranks forthe opening rank is 335 and closing ranks is 4450 for Aerospace engineering at IIST Thiruvanthapuram.

Now , a score of 73 shall be corresponding to ranks above 1,00,000 which makes it very difficult to get through Aerospace engineering.

Not necessarily just computer science, you can choose specializations in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Automobile, Chemical, Naval Architecture, Electrical, Electronics, Metallurgy & Material Science, Instrumentation, Mechatronics.

To become a aeronautical engineer you will have to do btech in the above specialization mentioned(either one) and for that you will be required to

It depends on the policy of the institute in which you are applying. Most of the institutes are open to candidates from various academic backgrounds and even non-engineers are given extra points for academic diversity. Hence you will be eligible for those institutions.

I want to take up aerospace engineering course

You will have to clear Jee advanced exam to get admission in B.Tech in aerospace  as NITs dont provide this course. Also, some of the IITs and IIST provide this course and admissions are based on Jee advanced score only.
