Dear madam/sir i finished my Degree in medical imaging tech in sikkim manipal university distance education am i eligible for MSC radiology
Hey Sagar!
As a graduate in BSc Medical Imaging Technology (MIT), you stand an excellent chance in pursuing a MSc degree in the same subject. I am sure you may know this otherwise I would just like to highlight that Radiology at the Post Graduate level is offered primarily through the MD in Radiology course, available as a specialization option only for MBBS graduates.
The most similar variation to this course which is offered to non-MBBS graduates is the Master in Radiology and Imaging Technology (MRIT) course offered by the Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phoole University in Jaipur, Rajasthan. For pursuing this course, you will need to apply through the University’s application form released annually during the normal PG admission season in India, mostly between May-July. While the eligibility criteria mentions that you must have completed your Bachelor course in Radiology and Imaging Technology (BRIT) with 55%, I believe that a BSc MIT course will be valid as well.
If you wish to opt for another close alternative, ie. the MSc in Medical Imaging Technology, then some of the options open to you include Manipal University, Loyola College, SGT University, Himalayan University and other such private colleges offering paramedical courses. The admissions for these colleges require you to hold a BSc degree in MIT and applications will take place as for other PG courses in the May-July period. You will have to fill and submit the application forms of these colleges before the specified last dates. To the best of my knowledge, there is no application restriction on students who have completed their BSc in Distance mode.
In conclusion, there is no specific MSc in Radiology course offered in India. If you wish to know more about a related alternative like MIT or a more distant one like Radiography, you can let me know.
Hope this was useful! All the best!
