In biology of neet 2019 a question came from out of syllabus ?

Sriya Bose Student Expert 1st Sep, 2019
Hello Aspirant!

Usually questions for Biology in NEET UG , come directly from NCERT. Infact 90 percent of the Biology section is based on NCERT. But you may find some questions which are out of syllabus ie. not mentioned in NCERT. In order to attempt such questions, one should study some extra information provided in the supplementary material (of NCERT), exam-oriented books etc.

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 1st Sep, 2019

Hello there!

Greetings !

If you can do dc pandey for jee then neet and aiims questions will cake piece of cake for you as if compared , the toughness level of jee is more than that of neet and aiims , so you can go for dc pandey for aiims and neet but yes , you need to go through past year papers of neet and aiims so that you can check yourself that whether you can answer questions or not.

Hey, I am appearing for NEET 2020 frm mh. miraj , what score should i target for a gov. Seat and what if i couldnt get a gov seat for mbbs

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 1st Sep, 2019
Dear Asad, you havent mentioned your Category. Neverthless, for being eligible for NEET, you should have scored 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. It is 50% for General Category, 45% for PWD and 40% for OBC, SC,ST. Now to be qualified in NEET, you should score 50% of top NEET score if you belong to General Category, 45% for PWD and its 40% for OBC,SC,ST. Now cut offs change every year and are dependant on various factors like no.of candidates appearing for NEET, no.of candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. Let me give you an example. In 2019, the general NEET cut offs increased by 15 marks but in Tamilnadu, the cut offs went as high as 70-100 marks. UP had a cut off of 469 for General Category in State Quota and 429 for OBC under State Quota in 2018. However, in 2019, even 550 marks couldnt get a MBBS seat even in a Private Medical College. Having said that what acts in your favour is almost 75 new Medical Colleges will come up in 2020 increasing the medical seats atleast by 90,000. So if you can score atleast 550-600, you can get a GMC.

Amy Student Expert 1st Sep, 2019

Hello aspirant,

Practice maximum mcqs and mug up every page of the NCERT book. Remember, even the unimportant lines of NCERT are important for NEET. In specific chapters, like the plant and animal kingdoms, you will need extra knowledge and that too in depth. Keep revising old chapters regularly.
