considering from a placement point of view you should prefer cse>it>ece>electrical>mechanical.this is because of the current boom in it sector of the country. however you can also go for a particular branch if you have a deep passion in it.

See if we are talking about the osmania university, Hyderabad then it is placed at 23rd rank in overall, according to the NIRF india ranking .

I would suggest IIIT Lucknow because for branch IT has got a better placement opportunities as compared to mechanical in India.
The higest package offered to IT was around 30 lakhs per annum where as in NIT. Jalandhar highest package for mechanical was 20 lakhs per annum
