Both are goods in their own perspective.If you have interest in mathematics and want do research studies in mathematics field then you should move ahead with PhD in mathematics.Aftet having PhD you can become a professor..But you can't go with aeronautical engineering if you doesn't have interest in it

Some PSUs recruit aeronautical engineering students given that they apply through mechanical discipline in GATE exam.

These include NTPC, BHEL, GAIL, MDL, VIZAG, STEEL and SAIL . Although mechanical students are preferred, aeronautical students are also given chance.

Apart from GATE, Engineering Services Examination (ESE) and ISRO

I will suggest you to opt maths in your msc course.

For pursuing M.Tech afte M.sc the only best way is to go through GATE.
