Aerospace engineering and Aeronautical engineering both have almost the same syllabus. Only a few papers are different. Usually institutes offer aerospace engineering, which is why it has better job opportunities. So, Aerospace engineering will be a better option. All the best!

It seems you are already pursuing Btech in Aerospace engineering as of now. See most of the deemed companies or institutions that offer job in this department are PSUs like the one you mentioned DRDO. Usually the criteria for job there includes passing the job interview and they often ask for the GATE score. That is the evaluation criteria for them. So my advice to you would be if you want to pursue a career in DRDO you should definitely take GATE.

Others have not announced anything yet related to that.this data provided is few months old,so keep checking for some new psu that hire aerospace engineering students through GATE.

There are some universities which invite diploma students in 2nd year for aerospace engineering.

Aerospace Engineers are generally appointed as Consultants, Thermal Design Engineers, Mechanical Design Engineers, Aerospace Technologist, Aircraft Production Manager, Assistant Technical Officers, Aerospace Design Checker and Graduate Engineer Trainees.

But I would suggest you to continue your B. Tech in computer science engineering even after diploma course as it is of wide range.

The diploma holders get chance to get into B. Tech through lateral entry in few colleges. The lateral entry is not just given to diploma holders but B.Sc candidates may also apply for the lateral entry. However there may be some requirements which differ from college to college.

If you are from Home State a score of 150–160 is enough to get Aerospace Engineering and for Other State, the marks required is 160–165 in JEE Mains c. In subsequent years it may differ by 5 marks so target for 170 marks. All these marks are given considering that you're from General Category.

As you ask about placement of aerospace engineering from Anna University ...so if you are top candidate of your group then yes of course you will get the top companies but nowadays placement record of aerospace engineering in Anna University or other  in Anna University affiliated college is good  but not like other branches.....
