 Aerodynamics (AE1)
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engg. / Cvil Engg. with valid GATE score in ME/CE
Dynamics & Control (AE2)
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engg,/ Electrical / Electronics/Instrumentation Engg.with valid GATE score in ME / EE/ EC / IN.
Aerospace Propulsion (AE3)
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engg. with valid GATE score in ME.
Aerospace Structure (AE4)
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engg./ Civil Engg. with valid GATE score in ME/CE.
Also  candidates having First class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST) in Bachelor's degree ( B.E. / B.Tech. or equivalent) are eligible.

hope this helps.

For aerospace engineers, which one is better. Graduation from iit or iist

Harsha Gurijala Student Expert 12th Aug, 2019
Dear aspirant,
Yeah for aerospace engineering IIST is the best option to learn new things. It has the best faculty to teach, best lab equipment, good environment for studies, best class rooms. In my point of view IIST is the best option than IIT for studying aerospace engineering course. Hope it helps you.
Thank you

Hi i am a diploma (mechanical engineering) holder. how to get admission in aerospace engineering field

preeti verma 30th May, 2022

Hi Dharmendra, you need to have scored Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (Engr.) (any stream) 3 years after 10th Or 2 years after 10+2 (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Computer Science) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST . (https://nest.lpu.in/LET/index.php)

The course for Aerospace Engineering has been designed for learners who intend to design aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, and missiles. In addition, these engineers test prototypes to make sure that they function according to plans. These professionals also design components and sub-assemblies for these craft like engines, airframes, wings.

The course equips a student to be able to effectively build and communicate the solutions crafted using learnings from basic aerospace engineering, basic sciences, mathematics, and computational skills and tools. He will have the ability to comprehend the problems and craft solutions in the field of Aerodynamics, Aerospace structure, Aerospace Vehicle design, and propulsions. He will rightly apply the associated learning for the atmospheric Flight mechanics, Jet And Rocket propulsions, Gas Dynamics, and Space Flight Mechanics for the solutions to real-world problems. He would demonstrate the ability to propose cost-effective optimised solutions for the aerospace sector using a simulated environment of Computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, and computer-aided engineering.

As per the NIRF ranking, LPU is ranked 66th among all government and private universities. As per The Times of India ranking, LPU was at no 36. The highest package offered in the course is about 31 LPA. The average salary was 4.8 LPA.

Im a 2year dropper of jee.i have interest in aerospace.if I take mechanical ,will it help in future?I also want a very good placement job.

Raj Shekhar Singh 30th Jun, 2019
Hello Aspirant!!
If you are interested in aerospace engineering then you can surely go for Mechanical branch as per future prospects mechanical have slightly higher scope than civil in the core jobs and research so and after your ug programme u can go for masters aerospace from any foreign colleges or indian colleges .
The criteria for M.tech programme in our country through valid gate score and here are few colleges who offers that course but you should have high gate score
1.IIST
2.IITs
Hope it helps!!
