Its great to know youre interested in the IT/Software/Analytics Service Sector. What I would suggest you is after B.Sc. in Mathematical Sciences, you must pursue MCA from some of the Best NITs or Top Public or Private Universities having strong Placement Prospects. Especially the NITs, you need to ace the NIMCET Examination followed by securing Admission in MCA, and hence a strong career in the IT/Software/Services Industry.
Other Option could be pursuing a M.Sc./MS in Quantitative Economics, Mathematics & Statistics or Computational Sciences from Eminent Institutes like ISI Kolkata and its branches like ISI Delhi. ISI Kolkata and New Delhi, really have Good Placements. And after M.Sc. or after some years of Work experience post M.Sc., if seriously interested, you may even pursue M.Tech in CS/Mathematics & Computing/ Data Science from some of the Top Institutes in India.

Hello,
To get a call from any of the IIM you will have to score minimum 98 percentile. But it is not compulsory that if you score 98 percentile then you will get a call. The get a call, first of all you will have to clear the sectional Cutoffs of IIMs. Sectional Cutoff means Minmum Percentile required in every section (VARC, LRDI, and QA) of CAT exam.
85 is the minimum Percentile that needs to be scored in each section. But your academic scores are quite decent so chances are less that you will get a call. Remember marks weightage Pattern and sectional percentiles of ever IIM is different. A lot of candidates couldn't be able to convert any if the IIMs even after scoring 99 percentile because they failed to clear the sectional Cutoffs.

HelloMa'am/Sir,
You should please stop forcing your wishes on the child. Let him decide what he wants to do with it. If incase he follows what you tell him and he doesn't turn out to be successsful, then he may end up blaming you and you may even regret forcing him to aim for an IIT.
I am sure he will become successful in his own ways, provided he is happy and has your support and permission to do what makes him happy. Guide him to become successful in what he wants and not what you want and I am sure he will make you proud one day.
Good Luck.
And stay happy

Hey aspirant,
Yes, Electronics and Communication Engineering students have fair chances of getting placed in any renowned IT companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, etc.
Companies check the ability of the students according to their hiring needs. Basically if the students have good knowledge of coding, algorithm and data structures then securing a job in these companies is not that hard. You need to develop your programming skills and at least should have done one project and be efficient in technical basics to crack the interview.
Soft skills like managing skills, gestures and speaking skills also matter a lot, so try to improve them too.
If you perform exceptionally on all the points I have mentioned then you can surely get hired in the above mentioned companies no matter if you are from ECE or CSE.
The roles you will get might depend upon your specialization. You can get hired in the Networking department or even as a software engineer, or project engineer.
Hope this helps,
All the best!
