How to crack software and computer jobs in amazon,Google etc. even if we are from E&C branch.

ginnisachdeva02_9364270 Student Expert 19th Nov, 2020

Hey!

yes definitely, a student can get job in any company if they have the required skills irrespective of their branch. And, to get software jobs in the mentioned companies, candidates must have good programming skills. And to get job there, there are three options, that are:

1. Your college must give you placement opportunity in that company .

2. you need to try for off campus placements, so keep an eye on the application forms.

3. you can apply for internship in companies and perform so well that they provide you placement offer.

Hope I answered your query.

Thankyou

after btech in material can I do further study in tech branch and get product based company like Amazon

Arihant kapoor 17th Nov, 2020

Hello Aspirant

Yes, you can get a job in Amazon. To get in amazon, you need problem solving skills. If you want to go in amazon as a SDE, then competitive programming is must. Doing B.Tech in any branch can help. But to get into Amazon like companies, you need to clear their technical rounds which consists of problem solving using data structures and algorithms. After that you will have to give interviews both technical and personal. After it, if you clear it, you are selected in product based companies.

Hope this helps and all the best.

I have two choices Columbia University or New York University for MS in computer science . From only placement perspective which university is best. According to you google, amazon, facebook like tech giant visit which university. If you are in my place which university do you choose(for placement)

akshatk 2nd Nov, 2020

Columbia University, traditionally seen as the academic big shot of the two, is part of the prestigious Ivy League, America’s most historically prestigious and selective institutions.

Columbia University is a higher ranked university on QS World Rankings, with it being ranked 18th, while New York University is ranked 39th. This shows both are one of the best universities out there, but Columbia has an edge over NYU.

In Science and Tech too, Coumbia is a better draw, with it being ranked 48th in the whole world. Placement wise the records vary every year, though being a higher ranked college both overall and in the Tech domain, Columbia gets a better average placement as compared to NYU. Columbia University has got placements from companies like- Xerox, Intel. Apple, Philips, Honda, IBM, and Deloitte, while NYU has got offers from-Google, PayPal, Accenture, Uber, Microsoft and Samsung. Honestly, both colleges get placements from top companies, though Columbia is a higher ranked university

So, I would recommend Columbia University for the degree you want to pursue.

All the best!

is information technology candidates can get jobs in google, infosys ,amazon, ibm etc

myidshivanisrivastava 30th Oct, 2020

Hello Ramesh,

It is a good decision to pursue B.Tech in IT branch, as many job opportunities have been opened to those with the aptitude and willingness to learn and use Information Technology. Most IT jobs pay more than the national average of all jobs.

India is officially the Information technology capital of south-east Asia with around 100+ Multinational IT companies and more than 50 indigenous IT companies having their southeast Asian level headquarters in India. This explains abundancy in the IT sector and also at the same time the job insecurity caused due to massive recruitments.

Some IT jobs for Graduates are as follows:

  • Software Developer
  • Testing Engineer
  • IT Coordinator
  • System Analyst
  • IT Technical Content Developer
  • Applications Developer

IT candidates can get jobs in the followingH :

  1. TCS
  2. Infosys
  3. Wipro
  4. HCL
  5. IBM
  6. Cognizant
  7. Oracle
  8. Tech Mahindra
  9. Amazon
  10. Google
  11. IBM
  12. Accenture

Hope this was helpful to you. Feel free to ask more questions.

Have a good day!!

what is cgpa cut-off for Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant?

pratiksha1002satpathy 15th Oct, 2020
Hey Yashwanth,
Normally the CGPA is for the eligibility criteria, it doesn't affect much in your interview, all that matters is the way you perform at interview. But for just formality CGPA 6 is the minimum, sometimes students with good CGPA may not get the placement.
Hope this helps you

I graduated BBA by 2016 and ive been working for Amazon since then. I am currently planning to pursue my master in psychology, as the stream interests me. As some colleges have degree specifications i am finding the college search quite difficult. Would be great if i get a guidance on the same.

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 30th Sep, 2020

Hello,

You can do MBA after BBA but you can't do MSc in psychology. eligibility for MSc in psychology is BSc in psychology. In Msc you will choose a specialization or a domain for that you will read/study for 2 years.

You can't go for different stream. you can appear CAT exam and do MBA and get interesting job options aboard. After MBA, you can do PhD if you want.

Hope it helps!

Can a BE automobile engineer from MIT Chennai get placed in IT companies like Google,Microsoft, Amazon etc in campus placements if he is good in coding?

Anuj More 29th Oct, 2020

Dear Candidate,

Yes. You can get placed in gigantic tech companies like the ones you mentioned even if you are not from core IT or CS background. Only you need to convince the employers of your skill set. If you have good logical & analytical skills, problem solving & troubleshooting skills. They check how curious you are to solve a given situation & the flexibility you show goes a long way in determining your future too. You can definitely get placed in these big companies irrespective of your different background. There are many examples of students like this in the IT industry.

Get in touch with different people from technology on GitHub platform and you'll realise the diversity of students having different backgrounds.

Hope this helps. Thank You.

SHARON ABRAHAM 28th Oct, 2020

Hello there,

CGPA does matter though. Every other company has their own set of criterias to be fulfilled as to sit for the tests. You really need to know coding at the tip of your fingers to get into such good companies. If you fulfill their criteria of minimum cgpa then you can definitely sit for the tests and then the rest is in your hands  you have to showcase your coding skills then you might land yourself up a job.
