Congratulations for getting admission into such decent colleges. As per your question which one is better so according to me it depends on your interest actually. Because the NITs are always first preference but the branch that you get that is biotechnology and in Amrita it is ECE so you have choose that whether your first preference is to the college you get or to the branch.

According to preference you will be able to better option for you. If your first preference is to college then NIT is always better but if you are not interested in biotechnology then going with Amrita is good for you.

Now you don't belong to the state therefore you'll be getting through Other state quota. For state candidates, the closing rank for Computer Science and Engineering lies around 13500 while the closing rank for other state candidates in Computer Science and Engineering branch lies around 1800 rank. Amrita unlike most universities doesn't have a different fee structure for the management entries and merit entries. But Amrita started a scholarship program for the toppers in every branch effective for the 2012-2016 batch. A sum of rupees 50,000 annually. On the first year, these scholarships are issued to the first few admissions to every branch. On the forthcoming years the scholarships are awarded based on their performances.
