The difference between the autonomous and affiliated colleges is that in autonomous college they can set their own syllabus and correction will be done in college itself. But question paper will be prepared by Anna University. You will recieve Anna University certificate at the end of degree in

If you fall in general category then the cut off score required for University Departments of Anna University is somewhere near 64 and that of PSG Institute of Management and PSG college of Technology is respectively 35 and 61.

You may not get a seat in mechanical engineering in anna University through gate by this score. If your score is good enough I. Tancet then you can get mechanical engineering. Anna University accepts both gate and tancet marks. 

Selection is done on the basis of any one of the following:

• Candidates having a valid TANCET Score are selected for admission to M. Tech/M.E.
• Candidates who are GATE qualified can participate directly in the counseling session.
