In CSE you have a lot of subjects and variables of topics. So the primary reason which is considered is that if you want to know more about a specific part of CSE then specialization is great.

For example, you have interest in CSE but you really like the portion of Artificial Intelligence then you can go for the specialization in AI.

But in general most student don't exactly know how is the essence of the subject in real life. For example we all know about robotics but in robotics we have various parameters which we have to learn and not only building it. Thus I always suggest that if you are sure about a field of specialization is what you want to do then go for BTECH CSE specialization else its better for you to go for CSE.

Taking the wrong specialization can be very frustrating for any student. So you should either be sure or don't take it else. Firstly there is a typo, it would be Machine Learning. See both the courses are good but if you see the recent developments in AI and Machine Learning then you will find a lot of application in Neural networking which have applications in Robotics and Data Mining. Now if you have Data Science then you get a edge to the industry in the R&D and modelling of data sectors. so both the fields have a lot of employability, and both of the graduates works in hand in hand. So if you wish to go for the courses then you can choose any of the two and you will be able to work in any sector. Now if you are more inclined towards Robotics then you will have a more interest in AI and ML and for you it would be better to choose AI&ML.

MSc Artificial Intelligence is a 2-year postgraduate course. A candidate who is interested in pursuing the course should have an undergraduate degree in any field related to science or engineering are eligible to apply for the course .

The eligibility criteria is  candidate should have graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, or Computer Sciences or a Bachelor of Technology Degree in any of the Engineering or Technology subjects from a recognized University.

Both NIT surathkal civil and AI are good branches, but keeping the current scenario in mind, artificial intelligence has much more larger scope in electronics and software fields. Colleges are providing AI as an additional subject to their students to make them industrial ready.

So according to me, if u want to go in software field, u should go for AI, whereas if cracking civil services exam is ur dream, u should choose civil.
