I am arts student want to become nutritionist hpw can I do it step by step.

SEJAL JAIN 7th Oct, 2025

Hello

You can definitely become a nutritionist even if you’re from the arts stream!
First, complete your 12th grade, and then look for nutrition or dietetics courses after that.
Many colleges offer B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics or Diploma in Nutrition programs. You can also pursue certifications in nutrition and diet planning later on.
After your degree, consider internships or training in hospitals or health centers.

after completing 2nd puc in arts can i able to pursue polytechnic diploma in mechanical branch and how much duration it takes..

Jishan Mondal 3rd Oct, 2025

Hello, Unfortunately, no. After completing your 2nd PUC (or Class 12) in the Arts stream, you are generally not eligible to pursue a Polytechnic Diploma in a technical field like Mechanical Engineering.

  • Engineering diplomas, including Mechanical Engineering, are highly technical and have a strong foundation in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. These subjects are considered mandatory prerequisites.
  • Admission into the second year (lateral entry) after Class 12 is only open to students from the Science Stream (with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths) or those with a relevant ITI certificate.
  • Since you studied in the Arts stream, you do not meet this fundamental subject requirement for a technical engineering diploma.

I hope you found this information helpful.

  1. Bachelor’s Degree : Join a B.Sc. or B.A. in Nutrition, Home Science, or Dietetics.

  2. Master’s Degree : After your bachelor’s, do an M.Sc. in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics.

  3. Internship : Complete a 6-month internship in a hospital or clinic.

  4. Certification Exam : Pass the Registered Dietitian (RD) exam conducted by the Indian Dietetic Association.

Starting Salary :

Hello,

Yes, even as an arts background student, you can still become a nutritionist by first completing 12th and joining any diploma or certification course in nutrition and dietetics. You may also pursue a bachelor's or master's degree in nutrition, although some institutions may have science (like biology or chemistry) prerequisites for these programs. You will gain practical experience through internships and will need strong communication and empathy skills to succeed.
