I have done BA English Literature and post graduation in MA HRM. Am I eligible to qualify UGC NET Exam to become an Assistant Professor in HRM?
Hello,
The eligibility criteria for UGC NET is passed post-graduation in the relevant discipline from a recognized university securing 55% aggregate, there is relaxation of 5% for reserved categories, in case of JRF the upper age limit is 31 years, and for lectureship there is no upper age limit, hence if you fulfill the eligibility criteria in terms of aggregate/age criteria then you can definitely appear for UGC NET, the fact that you have done graduation in english literature isn't going to be any problem regarding this, as this isn't something that is taken into consideration, explore more details regarding this by visiting our page at https://competition.careers360.com/exams/ugc-net
Hi Sir.. I am a postgraduate in Medical Biochemistry.. Is their a need of CSIR net for the post of assistant professor? Or CSIT is conducting NET ine this subject?
Hello,
Yes, Let's understand eligibility and process .
A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant /allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR (exemption from NET shall be granted in accordance with clause (ii) & (iii) of General Note in the last section of this document).
At the last the academic score as specified in the screening guidelines for the Colleges of the University shall be considered for short-listing of the candidates for interview only, and the selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview.

IS B.ED COMPULSORY FOR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR..?
Hi,
No, a B.Ed. is not compulsory to become a lecturer. If you have cleared UGC Net exam, then you are required to enroll in a Ph.D. programme.
You can also enroll in a M.Phil. programme. A Ph.D. is considered as a higher level degree than M.Phil. In order to appear in UGC NET examination, you must have cleared your master's degree examinations or appearing in final year examination.
You can conduct independent research and get employed in colleges and universities as a Lecturer. You may also read a career as a Teacher .
B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) is not necessary to become a college professor. But if you want to become a associate professor in a B.Ed college then you should have B.Ed and M.Ed degree. Other than this, B.Ed is only necessary to become a teacher.
And, to become a professor, you must have basic general qualifications :
PhD/ NET (National Eligibility Test)/ SLET (State Level Eligibility Test)/ Field Expertise/ Experience.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

Dear aspirant,
As you have qualified ugc net in obc category and you have cleared the cut off so let me tell you that you can absolutely apply for ugc net in obc category.
Although various factors are considered while deciding the cut offs like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.

what is the computer knowledge required for assistant professor in UGC-aided private autonomous degree colleges affiliated to Mumbai University
Computer Literacy is one of the preferred skills for every professions. The knowledge required varies from fields to fields. If you are opting for Observational Science or subjects which contain dealing with data then knowing atleast a programming language such as Python, c++ etc will be preferred as in the curriculum of subjects like Physics, Mathematics, Psychology etc includes this skills as in there subjects. Now if you are from hardcore arts then you may not need to know a lot of computer but you must be aware of word, excel etc in order to track & maintain records of students. If you are going to be a professor of Commerce then you need to atleast know the softwares such as Tally Erp which are usually included in the curriculum.
So its dependent on the college & subject for which you are becoming the Assistant professor in the college.
I hope this answer provides you some insight. Wish you a great eve!
