As per your question , Yes you can pursue m.tech in mechanical engineering after b.tech in automobile engineering Just you need to qualify Gate entrance exam in mechanical engineering with valid score to pursue m.tech course.

You can do masters in Automobile side. What I want to say is if you've already taken the gate exam it would be easy to pursue that course in IITS/NITS. if you haven't there are so many private engineering colleges are providing that course but it cost so
