BA is a three year full time graduation course divided into six semesters.
It depends on how much seats are there in the College. If all seats have occupied then it would be very difficult for them to enroll you. And for BA eligiblity criteria is 50% atleast

Both of these courses are quite different, however you can switch between them. But by switching I mean that you will have to change your course and start as a freshman again.
You can't carry-on your education from B.com first year to BA second year.

You can follow BHU cetacean test preparation books of Arihants and lucent's book of general knowledge. Apart from these you can focus on last 5-10 years previous question pairs which would give you a knowledge of which topics are mostly covered and asked according to weightage.
