Im a bCom graduate want to pursue event management as a career but unable to figure out the next steps. how and from where to begin?

Ayush Madanpotra 11th Jun, 2025

You’ve done BCom and want to get into event management. Great choice! Start by learning what event management is,it’s about planning events like weddings, parties, concerts, and meetings. You’ll handle bookings, budgeting, guests, and more.

You don’t need a big degree, but doing a short course from places like NIEM or NAEMD can help.

Next, get some experience. Intern or volunteer at weddings, college fests, or concerts. Work with decorators, caterers, or planners to learn on the job.

Start clicking photos or videos of your work and show them on Instagram or a simple portfolio. This helps people see what you can do.

Make contacts by attending events and joining groups online. Talk to people already in the industry.

Once you have some experience, you can either join a company, work as a freelancer, or start your own business.
