You need to complete your B.Tech degree or you should be in your final year of graduation to be eligible to apply for GATE exam.

In order to take admission in IITs you should have completed your 12th class or you should be appearing.
Make sure you have 75% marks in your boards exams or you should be in top 20 percentile for general category and for SC/ST it is 65% marks.
