Mechanical engineering at lnmiit is ok till now. Started recently, it has progressed at a good rate, but not at all it competes with other good colleges. I would suggest, if you are interested in mechanical, and you have no good option than LNMIIT, go for it, but

You can't get admission in vit through Jee main . They take separate entrance exam for scholarship and admission.
There are some management quota in vit.
Through management quota you can take admission in vit .

As your score in Jee mains examination is 61.21 percentile and you haven't mentioned your category of eligibility. For general category cutoff percentile is 89.75 , for OBC category cutoff is 74.31 percentile, for SC category cutoff is 54.01 percentile and st category cutoff is 44.33 percentile.
