Hii muskan, yes in the first year of B.Tech Biotechnology subjects such as physics, maths, chemistry are compulsary. Other than this you will have to study basics of various types of engineering such as mechanical,electrical and also fundamentals of programming. The first year syllabus hardly involves subjects related to biotechnology.

Each and every college has different eligibility criteria for admission. But generally you will need to pass 10+2/equivalent along with maths, chemistry and biology as the compulsory subjects. In many colleges Physics is also treated as one of the compulsory subjects. So whether maths and physics are compulsory

Since you're a PCM student for getting B.Tech Biotechnology you can easily apply for IIT Mains. A lot of IITs and NITs have B.Tech in Biotechnology. The eligibility for getting a govt. College is min 75% in boards and respective merit in JEE Mains and Advance.
