which code can I apply in neet if Im a 1st year student of bsc biotechnology my subjects are biotechnology, zoology and chemistry.

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 11th Dec, 2021

Hi

You need to choose the code 02 while filling neet 2022 application form

This is because,

Though you are doing Bsc biotech with the mentioned subjects, your highest qualification with all the three subjects i. e physics chemistry and Biology/biotechnology remains your 10+2

While, those who have passed 1st year of 3 year graduation with all the three subject i. e physics chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology needs to select code 5 and those who have completed BSc with at least any two of physics chemistry and Biology in their bsc need to select code 6.

Here's a short brief of Neet codes :-

--------) Code 1 :- code 1 is for class 12th board 2022 examination appearing students with physics, chemistry, biology and English or have have already appeared but results are awaited i. e have not been declared.

--------) Code 2 :- code 2 is for all those who have passed their 10+2/higher /senior secondary/ Indian School Certificate Examination with physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology and English

--------) Code 3 :- code 3 says it is for those passed their intermediate / pre- degree examination  with physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology and English ,your physics, chemistry and biology/biotechnology should also contain practical exam.

--------) Code 4 :- pre - medical degree with Physics, chemistry and biology/biotechnology after passing hsc i. e 10+2 or puc or equivalent.

--------) Code 5 :- code 5 is for all those who have passed  1 st year 3 year graduation with all the three of  Physics, chemistry and biology/biotechnology

--------) Code 6 :- code 6 is for all those students who have passed  BSc  with at least any two of following subjects :-

>>>>Physics,

>>>>chemistry ,

>>>>biology/biotechnology

--------) Code 7 :- code 7 is for those who have passed their examination from foreign board which is equivalent of Indian 10+2 board.

I am pursuing a BSc.biotechnology.3 years. I want to do international internship plz suggest me

Yaseera Bhombal 10th Dec, 2021

Hi Sumeya,

Every year, a number of global universities/government bodies offer 2- to 6-month summer/winter internship opportunities for international students (some specifically for Indians), with the goal of improving ties with the country and conducting a "student exchange programme" that would expose their students to their biotechnological research base and thrusts. Here's a rundown of some of the most desirable scholarship-based training options that can completely transform a student's biotechnology career:

I am listing a few internships below

  • Khorana Scholars Program.
  • Laboratory Training Programme @ CNIO.
  • Summer Research Program @ EPFL.
  • DAAD Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE)
  • Stanford-India Biodesign Intern.
  • University of Queensland Winter Research Program.
  • ITRI Summer Internship.
  • University of Zurich Summer School.

Hope that helps you

Best Luck

I have done bsc biotechnology and then applying for mba. so what should I do if I want to become an assistant professor? apply for msc or go with mba and then the net exam? will my bsc affect my net exam if I went for mba?

Afreen 10th Dec, 2021

Glad to know you choose such a reputed job for future.there are several exams in india to become assistant professor in india.to pursue your career as a professor you need to pass exam conducted in india.

One of the popular test is ugc NET if you qualify this exam you get ugc certificate and you can apply for interview for assistant professor in university/college across country.minimum eligibility criteria for this exam is 55 percent in master degree in any stream.

next exam is SLET.it is state level test if you clear this exam then you can eligible for applying in state university.

NTA conducted CSIR NET for the students of science stream.it determine the eligibility of student for assistant professor and shortlist candidate to award jrf.

You can apply for ugc net only with the subject you pursue in your master degree.for example if you choose mba then you have to take management subject in net exam.you cannot take biotechnology.

you definitely take net exam after your master degree.Decision depends upon subject in which you want to pursue your career.

Will IIT Roorkee offer Msc. biotechnology course ? and how many other IITs offer this course ??

piyush singh 18th Jan, 2022

Hello, I hope you are doing well

Biotechnology is one of the top emerging fields of study and a tremendous combination of Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Informatics & Engineering.

MSc in Biotechnology as a career option is in huge demand these days. Many Private and Government Sector companies offer job opportunities for Biotech postgraduates.

Placement in IIT Roorkee for M. Sc graduates is not so good. In the previous year out of the batch of 30 students, only four got placed in 4 different companies. The average salary package offered was 9 to 10 LPA. But it changes year wise. Most of the students aim for pursuing a PhD degree after M.Sc. But in the case of B.Tech and M.Tech, the chance of getting placed in a company is relatively high.

IIT Bombay & IIT Roorkee offers MSc & dual degree in Biotechnology.

Hope this helps
