Hi Sherin!
No doubt Sastra University provides good placement opportunities to students. Many companies such as Accenture, Mu Sigma, Flipkart, Wipro, microsoft , TCS, FreshDesk, Zoho, Intel, Ford, Boeing , Paypal, Oracle, etc. many companies visit the campus with average salary package between 5-6 LPA and highest salary package upto 25 LPA.
But there is no surety if company puts you in the headquarters or branch of its company. So, if a company in which you get placed has any of its office in Tamilnadu then there are chances that you will get placed in that region, otherwise it could be anywhere.
Thankyou!
Hi aspirant,
There are no problems if you don't want to pursue your career in bioinformatics, under the mentioned program you will be taught all the subjects that are taught to a core CSE student. So at the time of placements where hundreds of tech companies visit here, you can sit with others for joint placements. Further more you can select which subjects you want to study in elective part remember core students too have to select some specializations as electives from second semester. But you can't drop bioinformatics as a subject unless you successfully migrate from one course to other.
Program migration is also a remarkable feature at Vellore Institute of technology, where you can change your branch by doing very well at the ends of first and second semester respectively. The number of migrants allowed is about the 10-20 percent of the total strength in a particular course.
Hope it helps!!
Dear Divjot,
Msc Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary course which covers topics or subjects like Ecology, Physical Science, Geography, Atmosphere etc. There are variety of careers you can choose. It has wide scope in the both private and government sectors like Pollution Control Board, Water Authority and Urban Planning. Also, many private organizations like Refineries, Food processing industries, Fertilizer plants also hires environmental science graduates. It has career growth in abroad too.
Whereas, Msc. Bioinformatics deals with study of information technology which is applied for the analysis of biological data with the help of computers. It has wide scope in emerging years in the field of medical science. After this degree, you can work in all sectors of pharmaceutical and Biomedical organizations, research institutions, biotechnology, hospital, industry or even NGOs.
You can even be a professor in both the fields i.e, Msc. Environmental Science and Msc. Bioinformatics. Both have wide scope in their respective field. I would suggest you to choose as per your interest.
hope it helps.
Good Luck :)
Hello,
SASTRA take admission for stream 1 it take admission based on 12th percentage and score of JEE mains and for stream 2 based on the normalized aggregated marks +2 or its equivalent marks. This is for 30% of the total seat.
A first rank student of each board is considered to have obtained 100% mark and aggregate mark of all other students of the board is normalized with reference to that of the first rank student. For example, if the first rank is 97% and an applicant’s aggregate is 90% then the applicant’s normalized percentage is 92.78 (90/97 x 100).
