Hello.
Yes you definitely can take admission in BITS for MTech in CSE after BTech in mechanical engineering but remember your gate score card must be of CSE stream , if you are going with mechanical GATE score then it is not possible to take admission for another branch in MTech, now you also can take admission in BITS for MTech through BITS HD exam.
Best of luck.

Why is BITS,PILANI a better university for pursuing B.TECH than VIT,VELLORE even though its rankings are high both in the UNIVERSITY and ENGINEERING Category given by NIRF?

BITS Pilani is better than VIT in several aspects:

  • Bigger brand name, hence an advantage while applying to foreign universities for higher education.
  • Faculty is much more experienced, and has a higher research impact.
  • Infrastructure is amazing, hostels are also quite decent.

hello everyone, Is bits pilani college is better than IIT institutions.

Aastha jain 3rd Jun, 2020

Hi

  • Bits Pilani is comparable to the old IITs, i.e. Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kharagpur, Guwahati, Roorkee and Kanpur. If you have a choice between the same branch at one of these IITs and BITS, go for an IIT.
  • If you are getting a lower branch at one of the above mentioned IITs, and a higher branch i.e. Computer Science/Electrical at BITS, and are genuinely interested in these, go for BITS
  • If you have no branch preferences, you should definitely pick IIT over BITS.
  • The newer IITs including Indore, Hyderabad, BHU are also very good, and should be considered.
  • The reason being, IIT is a bigger brand than BITS. There will be more internship/job opportunities, great startup culture, and you would have an advantage while applying to foreign institutes for higher education.

EEE at bits pilani vs EEE at bits goa/hyd? which to choose?

Aastha jain 2nd Jun, 2020

If the choice is between same stream and different campus, you should definitely go for BITS Pilani Campus. It is better in terms of

  • Faculty- Much experienced, with higher research impact
  • Culture of college- Being older, it has a richer culture in terms of alumni network, clubs and extra curricular activities
  • Infrastructure- The campus offers a plethora of opportunities. Hostels are well built.
