BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore
Hello aspirant,
Hope you are doing well
Both the options you have mentioned are equally good .
Artificial intelligence and machine learning is the new branch introduced based on industrial demands .
Information technology is also a good branch where after you can get into good companies .
Till last year AI and ML was done as a course by many Engineering students.
Due to AI and ML demand a separate branch came into existence this year.
So both the courses would be equally good in bms and it entirely depends on your interest.
Hope this helps you
All the best!
I believe BMSCE is one of the most rising technical institutes in Bangalore in field of IT, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning next to IISc Bangalore, IIIT Bangalore, RVCE and MSRIT. You may prefer B.Tech course in AL and ML over CSE branch in lesser known colleges. There is a lot of scope in field of AI and Machine Learning and immense career prospects. Being located near IT Hubs at Bangalore itself provides impetus to training and placement prospects. Most of the Top Companies like Microsoft, Intel, Adobe, Cognizant, Infosys, IBM, Airbus, GE, TCS, John Deere, TVS, P&G visit BMSCE specifically for Information Technology and Machine Learning Roles during Campus Recruitment. Besides these BMSCE provides a very safe campus culture and peer environment with good infrastructure, faculty and research facilities.
Hello!
Information technology is more of a coding subject rather than theory. Whereas Computer science engineering deals with theory as well as coding in equal aspects. Placement opportunities will be more or less equal to Information technology as well as computer science engineering.
CSE have more scope. And during termination a CSE student is given a second thought whereas for IT students are not given much second thought.
Everything that matters is your skill.
Choose wisely, ALL THE BEST. Hope the answer was of some help.
Thank You

Hello Student
Yes you can change your branch after 1st year.
But there is a some specific criteria for that.
You should have passed your previous subjects with very good marks And there is a need of vacancy in the branch where you want to get admission.
But sometimes it is also depends on the institution you are studying in.So I think it is necessary to confirm by asking in the institution.
Hope this helps
Good luck!!!
If you are getting Computer Science and Engineering be it in BIT Mesra Off Campus' or at BIT Bangalore or wherever, take that over any other branch or institute.
Else BMSCE Mechanical seems a better option. BMSCE also has been experiencing good placements in last few years, with being located near Industrial and IT Hubs at Bangalore providing further impetus to training and placements.
