board exam
Hello
There's no percentage barrier to be eligible for JEE mains
So , with 74.6 % you are definitely eligible for JEE Mains exam ination , so you don't need to appear for improvement examination to be eligible for JEE Mains
But yes,
To be eligible for NITs, IIITs, GFTIs , jee advanced( for iits) one needs at least 75% marks in aggregate in class 12 if belong to general or obc category or at least 65% marks if belongs to SC/ST or must be in the top 20 percentile in class 12 examination.
So , if you are from general category and want to get in a seat in NITs, IITs etc then only you need to appear for improvement examination to get at least 75%

1.VJTI, Mumbai
2.SPCE,Mumbai
3.Jadhavpur University, West Bengal
4.Kalyani Government Engineering College, West Bengal

Hi Shivansh,
Yes, your brother can apply for B.Tech CSE or B.Tech Fire & Safety also. As, he has applied for B.Tech previously, he is eligible. I mean to say that the eligibility criteria for all the B.Tech branches are just the same.

Good Luck!
You haven't mentioned whether you belong to OBC-NCL or OBC-CL, if you come under OBC-CL then you are considered as general category. Your overall category rank is expected to be around 6084 and you can calculate it by the formula (100-your total percentile)*112679/100 where 112679 is the total number of candidates appeared in JEE Main Paper 2 in January session 2020. Your category rank will be around 1000. In 2019 the cut off was as follows
NIT, Calicut
NIT, Trichy
You may not get seat in neither of the institutes if you belong to OBC-CL but you may have chances of getting seat in NIT, Calicut if you belong to OBC-NCL category. Cut off in 2020 changes depending on number of candidates appeared, number of seats available and difficulty of exam.
hi,
see sorry to say it would be difficult to get admission in tier 1 and reputed institute like iits, nits, jadavpur university etc since marks recruitment of 12th course is higher , for iits and nits, cftis marks criteria is 75% aggregate for general, for sc/st candidates marks citeria is 65%. now you also face difficulty when you apply for placement in mnc companies which minimum qualifying marks criteria ranges from 60-70% for 12th course. however you may apply for general government colleges and tier 3 colleges which marks criteria is 50%.
some of the college you may apply for
sharda university
local private colleges

Hi,
The admission to graduation courses after 12th in bits is taken through BITSAT exam. Admission is given to the candidate based on the merit obtained in the BITSAT exam.
BITS give admission to the candidate on the basis of +2 marks also. Those who have topped in their board in class 12 exam can take admission in BITS directly.
So if you are a topper of your board you can directly apply for admission on the basis of +2. If not you should appear in the BITSAT exam.
