How is Cutoff calculated ? In State board exams

Anurag Khanna 10th Mar, 2020

Hi Hemnaath,

Generally in state board exams there is no any system of cut-off. Cut-off is only for entrance examinations. In state board exams percentage of students are declared in their score card. Cut-off of various examinations depends upon various factors like :-

  • Number of students appeared in examination.
  • Difficulty levels of examination paper
  • Number of seats available for which competition is going on.
  • By categorizing according to reservation categories.

Hope this helps you. For further queries feel free to comment here.

Sharon Rose Student Expert 9th Mar, 2020

Hello,

There isn't any entrance exam, the admission is given based on merit in 10+2.The eligibility criteria is that a candidate must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from a recognized board or university.Candidates belonging to general category must have passed with 50% aggregate candidates belonging to OBC including muslims must have passed with atleast 45% and candidates belonging to SC/ST/SCA/MBC& DNC must have passed with 40% aggregate.

You are eligible to apply for TNEA 2020 if you fulfill the above eligibility criteria and you must obtain your results before the commencement of counselling.
