Hello student
Yes, its completely normal to have a gap year after your class 12th. Many students take a gap year in order to prepare for entrance examination. You can apply for courses normally just like anyone else. However some college demands an affidavit for the gap year which is not compulsory in all colleges. You can talk about this with the college administration.
You can pursue BSc. CS from the following colleges-
Loyola College, Chennai
Fergguson College, Pune
St. Xavier's College , Mumbai
Atma Ram Sanatan Dharam College, Delhi

Hello Aspirant,
A Das Gupta and Cengage are some of the best books for JEE with lots of multiple choice questions.
A Das Gupta has many unsolved and solved questions whereas Cengage is known for the quality of questions included in the material.
I recommend you to go with A Das Gupta first as the terminology is difficult in Cengage. Intially to learn the concept and to adapt to the techniques A Das Gupta works. To explore questions with increasing the difficulty level, you can work on Cengage later.

Dear Amthul ,
This matter entirely depends on the institution where you are currently pursuing your academics. Many college take charges from students for e-books and some colleges let students to avail e-books for free. The link of such e-books are shared through mail from college or in official what's app group. Since you have not yet received the e-books from your college keep the transaction slip intact, produce it to the college and ask when will you get your e-books. Hope this helps.
