I am a class 10th student. want to know about undergraduate business management courses in IIMs and other reputed colleges. what is the admission criteria and entrance exam. How can I prepare for these.

pdwords Student Expert 3rd Sep, 2020

Hello,

Among all the IIMs, IIM(Indore) and IIM(Rohtak) offer five year integrated course in management, this means combination of BBA along with MBA.

Eligibility is passed 10+2 from a recognized board having mandatory 60% in 10th as well as 12th, for SC/ST/PwD it's 55%.

Admission is done through entrance exam named IPMAT which is further followed by written ability test and personal interview. This year the exam pattern has gone through a change which I have mentioned in a detailed manner below-

  • The entrance test is conducted for  a duration of two hours carrying 100 questions in online mode, there are mainly two sections Quantitative Aptitude has MCQs and Short-Answer questions with each having time bound of 30 minutes carrying 20 questions for MCQs and 10 questions for short answer, and Verbal Ability(MCQs) carrying 30 questions are to be answered in 30 minutes.
  • For each correct answer, four marks are awarded.
  • There is negative marking scheme, for each wrong answer one mark will be deducted except short answer of quantitative aptitude section which doesn't carry any negative marking.
  • The syllabus of Quantitative Aptitude consists of Number System,Percentage,Sequence and Series, Simple Interest and Compound Interest,Profit, Loss and Distance,Average.Equations,Time and Work,Ratio, Proportion and Variation,Time, Speed and Distance,Geometry,Coordinate Geometry,Mensuration,Probability,Permutations and Combinations,Logarithm,Matrices and Determinants
  • The syllabus of Data Interpretation consists of Basics of Data Interpretation,Data Sufficiency,Practice Exercise on Data Interpretation
  • The syllabus of Logical Reasoning consists of Sequencing and Arrangement, Team Selection
  • The syllabus of Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension consists of Idioms and Phrases,Fill in the Blanks,Para Completion,Antonym, Synonym, Confusing Words,Reading Comprehension,Para-jumble

Recommended Books:

  • For Quantitative Aptitude, you can use NCERTs class 11th and 12th for conceptual understanding, and later on can choose between "How to prepare for Quantitative Aptitude for the CAT" by Arun Sharma, or The Pearson Guide to Quantitative Aptitude for competitive exams.
  • For English Section, you can use Wren and Martin Book for Grammar, Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis is a great book for vocabulary building, some of the books for particularly this exam are How to prepare for  Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension for the CAT , by Arun Sharma and Meenakshi Upadhyay, The Pearson Guide to IIM-Indore-IPM Entrance Examination.

minimum score in CMAT to get admission in B K School of Business Management

S. Saha Student Expert 10th Jul, 2020
BK School of Business Management is one of the leading B schools of India. Every year the CMAT cutoffs change so it is quite difficult to predict any cutoffs. However, going by last year's data, the CMAT cutoff may range around 85 to 90 percentile. Marks less than 85 percentile may be difficult to get into this college.
