Since you haven't mentioned the specific IIT, it is difficult to reach a conclusion. If it is IIT Kharagpur or any top grade IITs, the Bsc course there is one of the best options and if you are interested in research based learning. NIT Calicut is much better

Here is the syllabus of Chemistry honours:

1st year: Inorganic chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry

2nd year: Inorganic chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry

3rd year: Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biomolecules polymers and Drugs, Physical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry- A molecular Approach

first thing, no one knows how many questions will be asked and which chapters will be included for majority questions. it may happen from every chapter one question may be asked. so, it would be risky to narrow down the chapters to important ones based on previous year trend
