I got 4476 rank in sastra can I get civil in round 2 of sastra..?

Rahul Gupta 14th Jun, 2019

Hello Divya,

With your rank in JEE Mains and assuming that you are a general category aspirant, you should be able to get Civil branch in SASTRA University 2nd round of counseling.

For more information about SASTRA University, follow the below link:

Some additional information about JEE Mains:

JEE Mains is an annual exam that is conducted by the National Testing Agency and the CBSE for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses in NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and other institutes. It also serves as the first stage for admission to IITs through JEE Advanced.

EWS is a new category that has been created by the MHRD for economically weaker sections. 10% seats will be reserved for those candidates whose annual family income is less than INR 8 lakh per annum.

As for your question, considering your peercentile, you won't be able to get CSE in SASTRA but should be able to get other less preferred branches.

A Civil engineer is weighted and analysed based on practical knowledge more So You can also join under local builders for 4–6 months as a trainee to learn and gain practical knowledge.

Mayank kumar singh 7th Jun, 2019
Hello,
I am so sorry to inform you that you are not eligible for admission in NITs or IIITs, since you don't have minimum aggregate marks of 65% in class 12th board exams. So, you can only try to get admission in private colleges through state counselling.
Good luck.

Is Japan is good for civil engineer sat Or not

Megha Singh 26th Apr, 2019

If you get admission in the top university of Japan (like Tokyo University, Tohoku University) for engineering course and receive a scholarship only then it is feasible to pursue Engineering from Japan. The quality of education is not extraordinary hence only if you get offers from top colleges, should opt to go to Japan.

G Rakesh 29th May, 2019

Hello.

The College of Engineering Trivandrum was established in 1939, but when the administration came under the control of Government of Kerala it moved to a sprawling 125 acres campus in 1960. It is one of the best-known and most sought-after engineering colleges in the state.

The COE is for the undergraduate, postgraduate, and research courses. The college was accredited by the National Board of Accreditation [NBA] and approved by the All India Council of Technical Education [AICTE].

According to a study sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, the College of Engineering, Trivandrum was among the Top Ten Engineering Colleges in India. Now it ranks among the top in the country in the quality of its graduates and the number of top jobs they get.

Moreover, the Kerala Government has sanctioned a new satellite project in association with ISRO through this Institute. This project aims to design, fabricate and launch a nano-satellite, in association with ISRO and CET Centre for Interdisciplinary Research [CCIR].

The fee for BTech is 24k but iam not sure this is per year or total fee for BTech.

Hope this is helpful.

Civil engineering is good for future? And whats about job.

Akansha Gupta 18th Apr, 2019

Hi Harsh

Civil Engineering is a good career choice and has become a popular one among various other career options. It deals with deagn, construction and maintainance of the infrastructure like roads,buildings,canals,dams etc which is quite interesting as a career option.

Well,it has good scope in future too since a lot of jobs are created in this domain.

The average pay for a civil engineer ranges between 3-4 Lakhs per annum,which always has a scope for increment.

Options under civil engineering include:

Civil Site Engineer ;

Design Engineer ;

Planning Engineer;

Structural Engineer ;

Industrial Production Engineer ;

Also,lastly just want to advice that if you want to persue it and have passion for it,you can definitely go for it.

Thank You.

Can someone please suggest me about which stream to be chosen ,IT sector or Civil sector for graduation.

Deepshikha Student Expert 19th Apr, 2019
Hey,
It entirely depends upon your calling. Both IT sector and Civil sector are equally good and cannnot be compared on any scale.
IT industry is one of the most popular sectors to work in if you have interest in web and internet technology or database management. The IT sector also influences the working of other sectors or industries either directly or indirectly. While,in IT sector you will get to work in air conditioned offices,Civil Sector will have you near the construction sites,where you will be required to supervise the work,design and analyse public projects like dams,highways,canals and bridges.Anways,the pay is good in both.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
