see after completing diploma in civil engineering you need to appear in NATA exam, now many colleges in india has lateral entry exam, but since architecture is a 5 years course, many colleges have no lateral entry options, you need to start from the first year of b.arch course.

You will get Lateral Entry only if you have done diploma. If you apply after your intermediate then you will get admission in 1st year only. If you apply for non-residential states then you will go under open category+ your reservation category.
