In most of the cases 10th certificate is used as a proof of DOB and if proper reasons are provided, the college authority will accept valid digitally verified marksheet.

At the time of DVC you have to produce all original documents in front of the officials and yes it's necessary to show an original marksheet of class 10.

Marks that you obtained in intermediate do affect you selection criteria but not to very great extent. If you have work experience,some extra knowledge about any particular domain or some extra degrees then you dont need to be bothered so much.

Your 10th class Grades are not considering the admission in any IIT.
Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2018 counselling:
>Candidate need to score the required cut off marks in the JEE Advanced.
> Candidate must have secured at least 65% aggregate marks in class 12th.

For any NIT seat you must obtain atleast 75% in board exams to qualify.
In your case, I am afraid you are not qualified for NIT seat.
