You have to give compartment exam and then only you will promote.
Otherwise you have to wait for a year to complete that one subject. If you go in this way there is a future problems in counselling or interview process.
Try to clear it in compartment exam

It depends on what stream have you chosen after 10th. If you have PCM,then definately the basic exam is JEE, BITSAT and other prime engineering entrance exams .
If you have PCB, then you have to go for medical exams, such as NEET, AIIMS etc.
