That part is if you notice is for local area AU/SUV/OU. The seats are allotted area wise. So if a student has studied for 4 continuous years inclusive of 10+2, they will be given preference. There they also say the four years should end with the qualifying exam which is

As per the revised Code 2 of the NEET Qualifying examination codes, candidates will be required to undertake two years "of regular and continuous study of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology". This means that no gap year will be permitted between Classes 11 and 12.

Yes friend there is always a chance left to start a new, fresh and correct path. Most of them make a mistake as you did. But no problem, you have 1 year and if you start making notes from today itself and compulsory revise all notes you make each day

For Maths:-

First, clear concepts than go through each and every solved example, in starting you will feel that you can solve these questions easily and tend to skip that question, but for clearing concept you should solve all that questions irrespective of time taken.
