It doesn't matter at all even if you have failed in your first semester , after passing it and clearing all subjects and completing your graduation , you will become eligible for CDS examination, you don't need to worry about failing the first semester examination what matters is that you have passed it.

Right now you are not eligible for CDS examination because for either Air Force Academy or for any other academy the candidate should have Bachelor's degree at least and that too from central/state recognized university and for Air Force Academy the candidate should have bachelor's degree along with passing certificate of 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics subjects included in it.
Now whatever marks you scored in Mathematics, it doesn't matter but you should be pass in Physics and Mathematics so if you are pass in both the subjects then after getting your Bachelor's degree you can apply for CDS Air force academy but also consider the age limit for Air force Academy which is 20 to 24 years, so after completing 24 years of age you will not be eligible to join AFA through CDS.

Hope you are doing great. So, with regard to your question, CDS exam is far more tougher than NDA exam. The CDS exam is conducted at your graduate level, whereas the NDA exam is conducted at school level. Further, the CDS exam is conducted by UPSC, so it is well known fact that it is always tougher.

Cds Exam-there is no restriction on the quantity of endeavors for this test, however your certificate should be throughout at the time obviously beginning. You can apply while in the last year of your certification. As far as possible for various wings contrast in the event of CDSE.

To be eligible to appear for Combined Defence Service Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission the minimum education qualification requirement is Bachelor's Degree from a recognised board. To apply for Indian Naval Academy you must have passed B.Tech, to apply for Indian Airforce you must have passed B.Tech or Bachelor's Degree and must have studied Mathematics and Physics in 10+² level. If you want to join Indian military academy Or Officers Training Academy you must have passed Bachelor's Degree in any discipline. Female candidates are eligible for OTA (Women), male candidates are eligible for INA, IAF, IMA and OTA (Men).
Diploma is not equivalent to bachelor's degree so you are not eligible to apply for CDS.
