my dob is 7/2/98. will i be eligible for cds 1 and 2 in 2022??

Hello,

The age limit for CDS exam is that the candidate must be from 19 years to 25 years, the education qualification required to appear for the same is that the candidate must have completed their graduation in any stream from any recognised university.


The CDS age limit for UR candidates is as follows:

For Indian military academy, 19 to 24 years, martial status should be unmarried


For Indian Naval academy, 19 to 24 years, martial status should be unmarried


For Air Force Academy, 20 to 24 years, martial status should be unmarried



For Officer's Training academy (Men), 19 to 25 years, martial status could be married or unmarried



For Officers Training academy (women, Non- technical), 19 to 25 years, martial status could be either unmarried, widow or Divorcee

how prepare cds exam after 12th

Hello,

First of all the eligibility criteria of various posts in Indian Defence Services is as follows-

Indian Military Academy :

  • passed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university
  • age limit to be between 19 to 24 years along with unmarried status

Air Force Academy :

  • passed bachelor's degree in engineering  or bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with physics and mathematics at 10+2 level
  • age limit to be between 19 to 24 years along with unmarried status.

Indian Naval Academy :

  • passed bachelor's degree in engineering from any recognized university
  • age limit to be between 19 to 24 years along with unmarried status.

Officer's Training Academy(Men) :

  • candidates need to pass graduation in any discipline from a recognized university,
  • age limit to be between 19 to 25 years along with unmarried status.

Officer's Training Academy(Women):

  • pass graduation in any discipline from a recognized university,
  • age limit to be between 19 to 25 years along with unmarried/widow/divorcee status.

Candidates in final year of graduation too are eligible for all of the abovementioned posts provided there is no backlogs at the time of applying,

now, coming to your question, depending upon the stream you choose, there are still three to four years left to appear for CDS, and exam patterns differs in case of OTA and IMA/INA/AFA as mentioned below-

  • In case of OTA, paper 1 is general knowledge and paper 2 is English, each consists of 100 marks for a duration of two hours,
  • In case of AFA/IMA/INA, paper 1 is general knowledge, paper 2 is English, paper 3 is Mathematics, each consists of 100 marks for a duration of two hours,

In order to start your preparation, you need to be well acquainted with the exam pattern, and syllabus as the details provided above , now you have to make a proper time table, and accordingly assign number of hours to each subjects, and go through recommended books as follows-

  • General Knowledge: Read newspapers on a daily basis such as The Hindu/The Indian Express to cover the dynamic portion, Pratiyogita Darpan is pretty good option regarding this, for static portion go through Lucent's GK/General Knowledge by Arihant Publications,
  • English: Wren and Martin Grammar Book/Word Power Made Easy by Norwan Lewis/SP Bakshi's General Objective English
  • Mathematics: Quantitative Aptitude for Competitive Exams by RK Agarwal/Pathfinder book for CDS by Arihant Experts

i have done bsc. can i apply for flying branch of airforce throgh cds

Hi.

As per the official eligibility criteria for CDSE, only Men are eligible to apply for Flying Branch through CDSE. However, Women can enter through NCC Special Entry OR AFCAT Entry.

Eligibility criteria for AFACAT (Men and Women)

  • You can apply through AFCAT for Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Flying Branch.
  • Short Service Commission in Flying branch is for 14 years with no further extension.
  • Eligibility criteria:

    • Age - 20 to 24 years (at the time of commencement of course).Upper age limit for Candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxed up to 26 years(at the time of commencement of course).
    • Nationality - Indian
    • Marital Status – Single
    • Gender - Men and Women.
    • Educational Qualifications

      • Minimum of 50% marks each in Maths & Physics at 10+2 level.
      • Graduates (Three Year Course) in any discipline from a recognised University who have attained minimum 60% marks or equivalent OR BE/B Tech (Four Year Course) from a recognised university with minimum 60% marks or equivalent.
      • OR
      • Cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
      • Final Year students are also eligible to apply, provided they do not have any backlog at the time of AFSB Testing and produce Degree certificate issued by the University as per the date stipulated in the advertisement.
  • Advertisement Schedule: Advertisements for AFCAT are released by the IAF in the months of June and December.

Hello,

To be eligible for CDS the candidate should have completed Graduation as you are still in your 10+2 level you are not eligible for CDS. First you have to complete your graduation then you will be eligible for CDS. You will need a Bachelor's Degree from any recognised University or equivalent institute to be eligible for CDS. CDS exam is conducted twice a year for the recruitment of candidates to different posts in the Indian Defence Services.

Firstly when it comes to girls they are only eligible for OTA that is officer's training academy through UPSC CDS exam for which the eligibility criteria is passed graduation in any field from a recognized university, age limit has to be between 19 to 25 years along with the status of being unmarried/widow/divorcee, you can also provisionally apply in the final year of graduation,

the compulsory criteria of passed physics and maths at 10+2 level is only applicable for Air Force Academy with bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or BTech and even in case of Indian Naval Academy candidates need to have pursued BTech from a recognized university,  for Indian Military Army /OTA Male graduation in any discipline is the eligibility criteria, however all these posts are only applicable for male candidates, explore more detailed information regarding this by visiting our page at https://competition.careers360.com/articles/cds-eligibility-criteria

Hope you are doing great! If your eyesight is more than -3.5 then only you will not be eligible for cda ima but you are eligible for cda ima as your eyesight is -1.25.and more than +3.5 will not be eligible.So don't worry and start your preparation today!

According to the current age limit criteria for appearing in CDS examination a candidate needs to be aged between 19 to 25 years for being eligible. I am a diploma holder without 12th am i eligible for cds ota

Hello,

I hope you are doing well, Sorry but to apply for CDS you must complete your graduation first with 12th having Maths and Physics. Diploma is something that is considered as equivalent to 10th. So After Diploma you must complete some Graduation Degree like Simple Graduation with Hons paper or B-Tech. But with diploma you can apply for NDA(National Defense Academy).

There is no specific aggregate required to appear for CDS exam, you just need to fulfill the eligibility criteria as laid out regarding educational qualifications, age criteria etc which is mentioned below-

For CDS exam there is no fixed percentage, you just need to be a graduate and of course you need to pass the the CDS exam.

Other eligibility criteria is

candidates willing to appear for CDS should be graduates and between the age group of 19 to 25 years.
