No, it is not necessary! Combined Defence Services Exam is conducted twice a year mostly in February and November. The one coming in February is CDS 1 and the other coming in November is CDS 2.
Both are the same exam dated at different times of the year.

To be eligible for CDS exam the age limit is of 19-25 years and the candidate needs to be a graduate to be eligible to give CDS exam. There is no age relaxation for reserved category candidates in the CDS examination. So if you satisfy the above eligibility criteria
