Hello Nandini,
Hope you are doing great. You need not be a graduate to become a commercial pilot i.e. a bachelor's degree is not necessarily required to be an airline pilot.
However, some airlines do require it, while others do not. Therefore, having a degree will give you greater options. Also, a degree would leave you in a better position if a medical issue were to prevent you from flying professionally.
Hope this helps.
Hi, most of the aspirants like to take up 12th science PCM as subjects and later on directly join flying school. They directly take up B.Sc. in Aviation. However, there are certain criteria's that you should keep in mind. First is 50% in 12th Science. Also, the minimum age limit to apply for student pilot license is 16 years. Later on you will have to appear for exams that consist of oral examination. Once you are done with 250 hours of flying minimum you can apply for Commercial Pilot License (CPL). Also to keep in mind that these courses are not really pocket friendly but, you do have a great return on investment. As, this is the path everyone takes it is very difficult to gather more information on after engineering. So, my best would be for you to get into it after 12th and not wait any further. All the best!

Hello Aditya,
To become a commercial pilot at first you should have a CPL or commercial pilot licence . basic basic minimum eligibility criteria is that you should have minimum 55% marks in your 10 plus two level with physics chemistry and mathematics in aggregate. At first to become a pilot you have to complete your flying training from a Directorate General of Civil Aviation certified Institute. After leaving the flying Institute you should have minimum 250 hours flying experience to be eligible for commercial pilot licence. Also you can gain this experience while in your flying School. You will get the complete trainings.
To complete all of this process it should require about 45 to 60 LAKHs in general. Among them only 30 to 40 lakh is for the commercial pilot licence and rest is for type rating, which is just a training or experience where you will be certified that you are eligible for a particular aircraft.
Hope this will help you

Pilots , in general are highly paid in India. As a fresher , a commercial pilot gets around 1-1.5 lakh per month. However with experience in aviation , they start earning almost 6-7 lakhs per month on an International route. A commercial pilot earns much more than miltary and private pilots.
