If we need to compare the acceptance rate of iit's with top ivy league schools, it is much easier to enter into ivy leagues schools like harvard,mit because their acceptance rate is 5% whereas acceptance rate of iit is nearly 1percent. So absolutely getting seat in iit is

• for civil services a candidate must have qualified with a bachelor degree.
• There is a special age limit for each category candidate.

See the switching of ur stream won't be affecting u in written exams and u will get the marks according to ur skills and knowledge but in the interview round u might be facing some problems as the panel would be asking some genuine reason for ur switching.
