I am very much good in geography, so could you suggest me what should I do? I am humanities student: BA geography honours BA programme ( geography + mathematics) BA programme ( geography + computer applications)

Stuti Jain 8th Oct, 2020

Hello student.

Hope you are doing well.

So it also depends on you what you should choose. But if you a very keen interest in geography go for BA geography honours.

But if you have interest in mathematics too and you are pretty much good in it then you can definitely go for BA programme (geography+mathematics)

Also if you feel maths is not my cup of tea or you are more attracted towards computer science or in computers you can choose BA(geography+computer science) . You can also have a chance to try hands on computer science subject. As there are many new fields which are getting explored with more job availabilities, I feel choosing last option is best.

It is not a difficult language like mathematics will require more time, hardwork and focus but it won't require that much.

Rest is your choice. Choose wisely.

Hope this will help. Have a great day!

Good luck!!

BCA is Bachelor of Computer Application while B.Com is Bachelor of commerce.BCA is a software course where you have to deals with computer programming while B.Com (//B.Com) is a course related to accounts, economics, statistics etc.

BCA is completely programming based where you do programming designing of web, mobile application and learn computer related subjects whereas B.Com includes corporate accounting, financial accounting, auditing, related laws, mathematics, financial management, security analysis, portfolio management, marketing, organizational behavior, taxes, etc. It is centered around Mathematics, so one should have a solid background in maths to pursue and complete this course successfully.

Both the courses are strong and good enough in their own way and both the courses has too much demand.

bsc computer applications entrance exam 2020 preparation

meghna arora 30th Jul, 2020

What is the BSc Computer Science Admission Process?

  • Most of the colleges and universities grant merit-based admission to the BSc Computer Science program.
  • The application forms are made available every year in the months of May and June.
  • After going through all the forms, the colleges then declare a cut-off list, and students who fulfill the cut off are eligible to take admission in that particular college or university.
  • Around 60% weightage is given to the performance in the entrance exam and 40% is given to the percentage scored in Class 12

Although BSc Computer Science admission is done on the basis of merit, however as mentioned a few universities conduct an entrance examination to select the students. The syllabus for these exams has questions from Class X-XII in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. It may also include General English as well

The minimum eligibility criteria for this course is:

  • Students must have cleared higher secondary classes ( Class 12 ) from a recognized board with 50%-60% of the score.
  • The stream should be science with Physics , Chemistry , and Mathematics . Having computer Science is also favorable in some universities.
  • For lateral entry , colleges such as Annamalai University offer admission in the 2nd year of the program, for which the student must have a minimum of 75% marks in the previous year of the program in the same discipline or 3 year diploma in the technical field after Class 10.
  • The qualification basis for International candidates is at least 50% in the passing assessment and having studied the pre-essential subjects for entrance into the program.
