My cutoff is 155.5 . I opt for BE computer science engineering. May i get the list of top colleges/deemed universities in Chennai?

sadafreen356 27th May, 2025

With a TNEA cutoff of 155.5, you have a good chance at getting into a Computer Science Engineering (CSE) program at several reputable colleges in Chennai. Here's a list of some top options, both colleges and deemed universities:

Top Colleges/Deemed Universities (CSE):

Anna University, Chennai: This is a highly ranked public university with strong CSE programs. For CSE, a score around 190-200 is expected.

IIT Madras, Chennai: A prestigious national institute, although IITs generally have very high cutoffs, it's worth exploring if your scores are competitive.

Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai: A well-regarded institute affiliated with Anna University.

SSN College of Engineering: Known for its strong academic and research focus, SSN offers competitive CSE programs.

SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur: SRM is a popular choice, especially for its engineering programs.

VIT Chennai: A well-known private university with a good reputation for engineering.

CEG, Chennai: A prestigious engineering college affiliated with Anna University.

REC, Chennai: Another well-regarded private engineering college.

Important Considerations:

TNEA Cutoffs:

The TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) cutoff marks can vary by branch and category. Keep an eye on the TNEA website for the most up-to-date information.

Merit-Based Admissions:

Some colleges also consider your Class 12 marks for merit-based admissions.

Research:

Explore each college's CSE program details, faculty, research opportunities, and infrastructure to make an informed decision.

Btech computer science fee structure and keam cutoff for that too

Saurabh Yadav 27th May, 2025

Hii,

The cost of a Kerala BTech in computer science varies depending on the type of college. While private colleges may cost 1-2 lakh annually, government colleges typically charge between 20,000 and 50,000. Higher management quota seats—roughly 2–3 lakh per year—and some that call for donations (5–25 lakh) are possible. Cutoffs for CSE in KEAM 2025 vary by college.

GEC Thrissur and other prestigious government colleges require rankings below 5,000. Between 5,000 and 15,000 work for private colleges like Rajagiri. Cutoffs are lower for reserved categories (SC, ST, and OBC).

Vasundhra 26th May, 2025

Dear candidate ,
With 80 - 82 percentile in MHT CET , you are unlikely to get Computer Engineering at AISSSMS COE Pune as the cutoff is generally higher . You can try for other branches or wait for later CAP rounds.

Can I get admission in AISSMS computer science if i got 80 to 82 percentile in mht cet

kumardurgesh1802 26th May, 2025

Hello there,

With an MHT-CET percentile of 80 to 82, admission to AISSMS College of Engineering for Computer Science may be difficult but not impossible.

Key points:

  • AISSMS Computer Science usually requires a higher percentile, often above 90, due to high demand and limited seats.

  • Your percentile may be sufficient for some other branches or colleges with lower cutoffs.

  • Admission also depends on factors like category, reservation, and availability of seats during counselling.

I would recommend you to use MHT-CET College Predictor Tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank.

Can I get admission in AISSMS computer science if i got 80 to 82 percentile in mht cet

Snahel Patra 30th May, 2025

Based on the MHT CET 2024 cutoff data, securing admission to the Computer Engineering (CSE) branch at AISSMS College of Engineering (AISSMSCOE) or AISSMS Institute of Information Technology (AISSMS IOIT) with an MHT CET percentile between 80 and 82 is unlikely for the General category.

MHT CET 2024 Cutoff Percentiles

AISSMS College of Engineering (AISSMSCOE):

  • Computer Engineering (General Category): 94.44 percentile in Round 1.

AISSMS Institute of Information Technology (AISSMS IOIT):

  • Computer Engineering (General Category): 96.82 percentile in Round 1

kumardurgesh1802 26th May, 2025

Hello Bhumi,

As per your request, here is the necessary information for admission to B.Tech in Computer Science at IIT Jodhpur:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You must qualify JEE Advanced , which comes after clearing JEE Main .

  • Minimum 75% in Class 12 is required (you already have 97%, so you're eligible academically).

  • You must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12.

Admission Process:

  • Step 1: Appear for JEE Main and qualify it.

  • Step 2: Register for and qualify JEE Advanced .

  • Step 3: Participate in JoSAA Counselling .

  • Step 4: Choose IIT Jodhpur - Computer Science as your preference.

Important Points:

  • Competition is extremely high for Computer Science at IIT Jodhpur. You need a very high rank in JEE Advanced (usually under 2000 in General category).

  • If you belong to a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), the required rank can be slightly relaxed.

  • The admission is purely based on merit through the national level entrance exam (JEE Advanced).

Note: As per safety and privacy rules, I cannot make calls or save phone numbers. You are advised not to share your personal contact information publicly .

Hello there,

With an EWS rank of 4920 in JEE Mains and being from Uttar Pradesh, you can target these types of colleges for Computer Science Engineering (CSE) or related branches like IT, Data Science, and AI:

  • NITs with moderate cutoffs: NITs such as NIT Kurukshetra, NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Silchar, and NIT Uttarakhand often have openings for EWS category around your rank for CSE or related branches.

  • IIITs: Some IIITs may have seats in CSE, IT, or Data Science for your rank under EWS reservation.

  • Government-funded technical institutes: Institutes like BIT Mesra, PEC Chandigarh, or IIIT Hyderabad (if rank and counselling align) could be options.

  • State engineering colleges in Uttar Pradesh: Institutes like MNNIT Allahabad, KNIT Sultanpur, and others may offer good CSE or IT branches with campus life and placements.

  • Private universities with good placement records: Universities like VIT Vellore, Manipal, and SRM are known for decent campus life and placements in CS-related branches.

To maximize chances, participate fully in counselling, fill choices carefully including branches like IT, Data Science, and AI where available, and consider other related branches with good prospects.

I would recommend you to use the JEE Mains College Predictor Tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your rank.
