Hello Aspirant,
If your rank in JEE Mains is 16000 you're not out of the woods for getting Computer Science in some NITs. But as you said "I'm not really interested in coding or about anything that is computers" it is reasonable to look somewhere else. If you like designing, creative thinking, problem-solving, and real-world applications Industrial Design at NIT Rourkela is a great option for you. The Industrial Design department is very established at NIT Rourkela and teaches product design, ergonomics, CAD tools, and has an innovation-centric simulated learning approach. Graduates move into products design, UI/UX, automotive, consumer technology, and many other roles, or pursue design masters courses in NID, IDC-IITB etc. If you want to consider all your options, I believe picking a branch that you have an interest such as Industrial Design will lead to a better settled career than simply going for CSE for the tag. One must be knowledgeable in whatever career path they settle into, but in fields like creativity and design interest and passion are incredibly important.
Having an STR rank of 132000, students of Computer Science in Bangalore could look into:
1. RNS Institute of Technology is the name of the institution used on the site.
2. Meenakshi Institute of Technology under the Nitte Group
3. Bharatiya Muniratna Sadan Thapar’s Institute of Technology and Management
4. Dr. Institute of Ambedkar spelled the technology
5. The university is called M.S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences.
6. JSS Academy for Technical Education
7. REVA University
Fees at big universities can be as high as INR 7.5 lakhs and as low as INR 3.25 lakhs every year. The cutoffs may change anytime, so students should confirm them with the college offices and join all the counseling sessions.

Hello
The eligibility criteria for B.Tech in Computer Engineering (or Computer Science and Engineering) are as follows:
Educational Qualification
Passed 10+2 (or equivalent) from a recognized board.
Must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as core subjects.
Minimum aggregate marks required: Typically 50% to 75%, depending on the college or category (SC/ST/OBC may be eligible for relaxation).
Most institutes require candidates to be at least 17 years old.
Upper age limits (if any) vary by exam (e.g., JEE Main has no age limit, but attempts are limited).
With a CRL rank of 152,999 and an OBC rank of 50,380, YMCA Faridabad’s B.Tech (Computer Engineering) may be a stretch. In 2024, the college’s OBC Home State cutoff closing rank ranged roughly 46,386 for this branch . This places your rank close to the upper limit, meaning admission is possible but not guaranteed especially if many higher-ranked candidates opt for other colleges. You may have a slightly better chance under the All India OBC category if cut-offs shift. Keep an eye on counselling rounds and consider backup options like Information Technology or nearby engineering colleges where your rank fits more comfortably.
Thanks for asking—wishing you the best with your engineering admission!
Hi Eaganathan, With the rank of 47655, getting into computer science and engineering will be difficult for you in tier 1/2 colleges. For Tier 1 colleges like RV College of Engineering, BMSCE, MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, DSCE, etc., the closing rank falls under 3000 for OBC candidates. Even in the Tier 2 colleges , the rank falls under 10,000 for OBC candidates. Consider low-tier colleges like Acharya Institute of Technology, Presidency University, SIT, and BNMIT to get admission in CSE . If you go for other branches like ECE, Civil, IT, or Mechanical in mid-tier colleges or low-tier colleges , there is still a chance for you to secure a seat. Use the Careers360 college predictor to get an exact idea about the college that you can get based on the basis of your COMED K rank : https://engineering.careers360.com/comedk-college-predictor?ici=cp-listing_engineering&icn=COMEDK-College-Predictor For more information about COMED K, click on the link below: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/comedk-uget-seat-matrix All the best.
