The basic eligibility for admission into data science stream is, you must have PCM as your compulsory subject in 12th and if you have IT as your additional subject then it will be helpful also. You need to score atleast 60% in 12th boards and need to write the CET(University level exam) for admission into data science.

As you have taken biology instead of maths, it will be difficult for you to be in this stream and also you are not eligible in some criteria.

Both are good career option , but doing IT from top colleges will be better according to me . Some will also suggests you to do cse from average . Everyone has their own choice . Information Technology is the second most preferred non- core branch after Computer Science Engineering . There is a lot of scope in this branch for further studies. No! For the course of MSc Data Science, its required that the student must have completed there UG education in Mathematics/Statistics. Also there are some institutes which allows allied subjects such as Physics graduates as well to be a part of the Data Science program.
