See if you want to do Applied Mathematics then IIT can be a good choice for you. As its a engineering institution it can give you a good background in Applied Mathematics and you can go for Data Science also as Electives in the curriculum. There are some colleges which offers Data Science course without entrance exam. Among Data Science, IT and Computer Engineering, Computer Science Engineering is better. It has good scope. Next option is IT and then Data Science after Computer Science Engineering.

The eligibility criteria for M.sc business statistics in VIT is

• The Candidate should have passed graduation in Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Business/ Commerce / Economics/ Engineering from a recognized university.
• Also, the candidate should have at least 60% marks in UG

and, The eligibility criteria for M.sc data science in VIT is

• The candidate should have completed BE/BTech in CSE/ IT/ECE/EEE or BSc in Mathematics/Computer Science/ Physics/Statistics
• Also, the candidate need to have at least 60% marks in UG.
