If you can get such short term courses certificate by learning online than yes they will be helpful, sort team courses can boost up your knowledge or at times in the field of your studies.  It's not necessary that it might help you fo secure a job buy you might apply it somewhere or other so its never gonna go waste.

The courses you have mentioned are nothing alike so it's difficult to draw a comparison amongst them. Both have great job opportunities so it really depends on what interests you more. IIT Madras doesnt provide you with bca data science course.It offers courses such as M tech,b tech,Msc,Mba,PGDM etc.It is a good college in the field of engineering and it is well known for its placement.If you wish to do any b tech course then IIT madras is a good college to avail.

Some colleges to offer Bca data science are Chandigarh University,Loyola College,St Xaviers Mumbai,Jawaharlal nehru University,Vivekananda Global University

The choice of college is good but unfortunately it does not provide you with Bca data science.The chennai branch provide you with B.Sc. Fashion Design,
BBA Honours (2+2) programme in collaboration with RIT under Humanities programme but you could avail for Bca (Computer application) in vellore branch Of VIT
