may i know deemed universities vs autonomous institutes

Aadarsh Gupta 4th Nov, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

Hope you are doing well

1) Deemed university status is granted by UGC to autonomous universities which work on very high standards in the specific area of study whereas Autonomous colleges are affiliated by any Government university but follow their own grade system for their academic courses instead of following the university's syllabus.

2) Deemed universities award their own degree while autonomous colleges have no such privilege.

3) Deemed university is more free and flexible as compared to the Autonomous college.

Hope it helps!

I scored 535 in Neet 2020, AIR 59,000. I know I womt get any govt MBBS colleges and Im prepared for deemed MBBS colleges. Now, in what order do i fill choices? All Govt MBBS first, and then Deemed or vice versa? I dont want to miss my chances for Deemed universities either. Please help me

sureshkumarlaasya 2nd Nov, 2020

Hello aspirant,

If you think that you want to try for government MBBS colleges then first fill the government MBBS colleges though you may think that you might not get the college. We never know what happens. Keep government MBBS colleges first and then keep the deemed universities in which you are interested. Fill as many options as possible to ensure that you will get admission in some college. But don't fill those colleges which you are not interested in .

Hi, Have started ug counselling registration . Havnt started the choice filling as I want to participate only in the mopup round for deemed universities. Is it right or when I should proceed further.

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 31st Oct, 2020
Hello,

Mop up is the 3rd round of counselling and comes after first 2 rounds get finished.
The seats which seants are left, released and go vacant by whatever the reasons get filled in this round. All the students and candidate who are qualified from NEET, are eligible for mop up round counselling. One more thing is that you dont need to release, leave or surrender your previous allotted seats in round 1 or 2 for participate in mop up round.Students who didnt get any seat in round 1st and 2nd counselling can participate in mop up to get a seat.Candidates are also eligible for mop up round who got admitted in round 1st and 2nd and secure the seat but didnt fill up status retention form.
To participate one has to fill separate form for this round.

I hope this helps.

Can I get BAMS seat in private college except deemed universities from counselling round? But I am not qualifying NEET percentile.

SHARON ABRAHAM 29th Oct, 2020

Although in general  those candidates who qualify the NEET UG exams are eligible to get an admission in BAMS but sometimes some states allowed students who are not qualified in NEET. So can try your luck in those colleges. Like Himalayiya ayurvedic Medical college & Hospital or Quadra Institute of Ayurveda .

If I choose AIQ option in round 1 of counseling then can I change from AIQ to Deemed universities during Round 2? Is it possible to change

Pragya sarwaiya 28th Oct, 2020

Hi

Yes you can opt to Deemed universities in second round. But for this, you have to complete all procedures of Round 1 of counselling and wait for second round of counselling.

When you register yourself for second round, you will get similiar options to choose from any  goverment or private colleges according to your convenience.

During counselling can I register by paying initial deposit of 10000 and apply only for govt colleges and central universities and then in second round pay 200000 and apply for deemed universities ?

Mrinalini Sarkar 31st Oct, 2020

Hello,

Yes, you can do that by giving the initial deposit an only appear for government colleges and central universities in the first round. Later on you could apply for Deemed universities after paying amount of 2lakhs in the second round. Counselling for government and central colleges are conducted by MCC and for deemed universities it is conducted by DGHS on behalf of MCC so both are separate and there is no issue in apply for both.

Hope it helps.

Good luck.
