I scored 675 and an overall percentile of 89.6 in Feb MAT 2018 .. do I stand a chance of getting a call from IISWBM, SIMSREE or PUMBA ?

Perli pavan 23rd Feb, 2018
Hello shekhar,
With a score of 600+ in MAT examination you can easily expect a call from
IISWBM, PUMBA, SIMSREE. As the cut off for these colleges will be around 600 you are on a safer side and the you may get a call from all these three colleges. All the best for your future.

I have got 99.10% 761.50marks can you tell me some good clgs and am I eligible for Pumba

Akshay Kadam 24th Feb, 2018

Congratulations Shiva for your excellent score and percentile in MAT exam!!

As you have a very good MAT score and percentile so you have a good chance of getting into a top college which recruits through MAT score. Although colleges for calling a student for next round of GD, WSAT and interview also looks for other parameters like 10th, 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, extracurriculars.

Some of the best colleges in which you must apply and have a good chance of selection are:

  • Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra
  • Jaipuria Institute of management
  • IFIM Business school
  • IPE Hyderabad
  • Department of Management Sciences, PUMBA (Pune University)
  • BIMTECH Noida
  • Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, Bangalore
  • National Institute of Technology Warangal
  • Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad
  • Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education, Mumbai
  • PSG Institute of Management, Coimbatore
  • Amity Business School, Noida
  • Alliance School of Business, Bangalore
  • Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow
  • SCMS Cochin School of Business, Cochin
  • IIT Madras

The only problem is that as you are pretty late so there might be a chance that you might have missed the application deadline of a few colleges. SO, quickly fill up all the college's application within their admission deadline.

FOr PUMBA as last year cut-off was 600+ so you will definitely get a call for second round of GD and interview.

All the best!!

When does the form for mba opens in pumba? I have got 64.63 in cat.. do i have any chaces of call from it?

Mrunmayi Deshpande 21st Feb, 2018

Hi

There is no fixed cut-off for PUMBA college. It varies year to year.

65% of the seats will be filled based on MAH/MBA-CET Scores, while the remaining 35% will be filled based on All-India Entrance exams of CMAT & CAT.

And on the basis of previous year records, PUMBA's cut off is around 90+ percentile. However, CAT percentile is not the only criteria for getting a call from the college. The overall profile also matters, like your academics, work experience, etc.

In my opinion, you might not get a call from PUMBA. A few other colleges you can consider are:

Amrita School of Business - Department of Management Studies

Bangalore

Acharya Bangalore B-School (ABBS)

Asian Business School (ABS)

Hi Rajat,

The private management institutes/colleges usually have high tution fee ranging anywhere between Rs. 5 Lacs to Rs. 20 Lacs. Only the government institutions have low course fee. However, there are many banks which offer education loans with low interest rates. You can take the education loan and repay to the bank in convenient installments once you start earning after finishing the programme.

To get the answers of all the queries related to education loan options and how you can apply, please visit the link given below:

Few things to check before you apply for admission in any college:

- Check the course structure

- Placement records of the institute/college

- Infrastructure of the institute/college

- Check if the institute/college provides the Real-Time experience to its students

- Talk to alumni if possible

All the best.
