however BA hons business economics has an entrance DU JAT.
quantitative ability(maths), reasoning, verbal ability and general awareness are a part of the syllabus.

Economics is beneficial as a subject for both Civil Services as well as Banking.
As of now, probably you are confused between banking as well as Civil Services
So what you can do is take Eco(Hons)
As if you want to go with banking it would be beneficial
It may actually depend on the college youre seeking admission into. Check their admission criteria. Generally the best of 5 rule is applicable to CBSE students. But it is still better to check with the college you need. And to be safe account for all your subjects.

You can score good marks by preparing the NCERT back questions but, I won't suggest to rely only on them because, sometimes CBSE asks conceptual and value based questions and for that you must study the topics thoroughly. As economics is a subject mixed with theory and calculative topics
